In a significant development, the armed rebel forces are reported to have drones for dropping bombs on Myanmar Army, drawing attention of the actors in the neigbourhood, including India.
Various Chin ethic rebel groups fighting the Myanmar Army have now resorted to using aerial drones to conduct different types of operations, including targeting Myanmar Army posts.

Reliable reports said that on February 3 night, Chin National Army (CNA) and Chinland Defence Force (CDF) have dropped as many as three bombs by drone at a village near Thantlang (Southern-most edge of Chin State). Thantlang, it may be mentioned, is the Company location of Myanmar Army.

The attacks came hours after the imposition of Martial law in seven townships in Chin state. Soon after the Martial Law came in force, the CNA and the CDF have stepped up their attack on Myanmar Army.
Even though, No casualty was reported so far, the use of drones for the bombings has had the world worried.

Indian Army is monitoring the development very carefully monitored, reliable sources informed.
“This recent attack needs our attention. The place of bombing is not very far from Indo-Myanmar Border which again raises various security concerns. Also, the fact that these rebel group have gotten access to niche technologies, which while in use for some time in other parts of the world, were yet to find way in the ongoing Myanmar crisis is a worrisome situation. This development needs to be monitored carefully and appropriate measures need to be put in place,” said a source.
