India-Nepal relations are on an upswing following the visit of Nepalese Prime Minister to India. During the visit early this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba jointly inaugurated cross-border passenger train services, RuPay payment system in Nepal and signed several Memorandums of Understanding.
They also inaugurated Solu Corridor 132 KV power transmission line and sub-station in Nepal built under government of India’s Line of Credit. The two sides agreed to give a push to the Pancheshwor project. Nepal joined the International Solar Alliance.
